DAY TOURS
All Day Tours Can Be Booked by calling (405) 224-9627

Guided Bus Tours require a minimum of 20 participants.

BEHIND THE SCENES DAY TOUR:
We have a “Behind the Scenes” day tour that takes approximately 1 1/2 hours for $5.00 each. Our step-on tour guide will first take visitors through the park during the daytime to see the structural set-up for the light show and to get a historical overview of our show and city. Next, the group will travel to one of our workshops where our very own “welder lady” demonstrates the inner workings of creating the displays which are all hand-made right here in Chickasha.

Visitors will get a hands-on experience at the workshop and one lucky person will be the recipient of a decoration to take home. If there is ample time, our guide will direct you to our downtown Main Street where visitors can browse the many diverse merchants including several antique stores.

CHICKASHA TOUR OF DOWNTOWN
Located downtown is our museum (inside the historic Dixie building; directly across the street from the quilt shop) and they are open from 10-2 but we can adjust those times if we need to.  Also, located downtown is our Rock Island depot & museum that was fully restored in 2005.  They are open Mon/Wed/Fri from 10-2 but again we can adjust those times if needed.

Our downtown is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the buildings and architecture are very interesting.  We have many antique stores and several specialty stores.   Also available downtown is Liberty Drugstore. They have been featured by Discover Oklahoma, The Daily Oklahoman, and the Paul Harvey Show. They offer a .05 cent cup of coffee and have an old time soda fountain. Visit http://www.libertydrugchickasha.com/ for more info.  Inside the historic Dixie building is Crazy 8 Café that is available for lunch, wonderful homemade desserts, and specialty coffees. Visit http://www.crazy8cafe.com/ for more info.

Last, but not least, is our University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.  They are the only public liberal arts college in Oklahoma, the only college listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the first college in Oklahoma commissioned by the state legislature.  The college offers guided tours and history of the college.  http://www.usao.edu/

There is a $5.00 charge for any/all of these daytime events and a tour guide can lead you to all.  We also will give a little history of the Festival of Light if there is time.

CHISHOLM TRAIL HERITAGE CENTER DAY TOUR:
Bus Groups traveling on Hwy 81 or North on I-35 can detour into Duncan, Oklahoma and tour the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center. Toss a rope around a Longhorn steer; visit an old-fashioned trail store; create your own brand or sit a spell near the campfire and listen to Jesse Chisholm as he offers advice to a young cowboy on his first cattle drive.  In the multi-sensory Experience Theater, smell the wildflowers of a springtime Oklahoma prairie, listen to the thundering hooves of a cattle stampede, and feel the wind and rain on your face as a storm rages.
Tours can range from 1-3 hours depending upon your time schedules and cost $5.42 per person (price includes tax).   Lunch availability in Duncan includes Golden Corral (full buffet), Antique Marketplace & Tea Room (specialty salads, soups, sandwiches), Old Bus Station (full buffet), Big G Steakhouse (smoked bar-b-que), Cedar Street Grill and The Vine & Fig Tree.
